Leap Year denotes that weird extra day, every four years, when we need to adjust our Gregorian calendar to align it with the solar year. Julius Caesar began doing this in the year 46, and it was finally synchronized perfectly by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582. It’s a rare day to be born and if you are, you’re called a leapling. It’s considered socially acceptable for a woman to propose to a man on leap day (check out the fun romcom movie Leap Year if you have time to chillax this weekend!), and it just so happens to fall on election years in the USA. Here at Evy’s Tree we aren’t planning any proposals, but we did think it would be an excellent day to launch a surprise release!
Yes! You spied these in earlier pictures and rumors spread about upcoming Denim Skinnies in Grey…well, you eagle-eyed ladies were spot-on. Spring is just around the corner and we knew your closet needed not only refreshing with new Skinnies, but Skinnies in the ultimate neutral color! These new Grey Skinnies are similar to the recent Black Ruffle Skinnies; they have the comfortable elastic waist, tapered and fitted legs, the same faux fly and front pockets, with functional back pockets. All of these details combine to create your favorite, second-skin medium-rise leggings. We modified the fit just slightly; these have a shorter inseam and a better overall rise. They are designed to end right above the ankle for most heights; our Skinnies are always considered true to size but as usual, refer to the size chart in the listing to compare your measurements. This grey tone will coordinate very well with nearly any color of shirt, sweater, or hoodie you need to pair it with, and they go great with wedges, boots or booties, or flats and tennis shoes.
And of course, we have to bring you a quirky, unique, fun Leap Day shirt! Entirely new to Evy’s Tree is our Sierra in Multicolor Tie Dye. The Sierra is a super soft, lightweight top inspired by the always-popular nostalgia for vintage tye dye, but in a more sophisticated execution for the every day wear of the 21st century lady. The Sierra features raglan sleeves, ruching on the front and back center and sleeves, those handy thumbholes, and adjustable side seams with woven cotton drawstrings that are similar to the Layering Leaves. The tie dye itself is a fun color block pattern of the perfect spring tones of ice blue, peach and pale yellow. The Sierra can be worn alone as a statement top, or easily layered with your favorite hoodies or sweaters.
Please refer to the listing on our website for exact body measurements.
Models are @vanessawilkinson, Helen Bystrova. and Chelsea Rashoff. For pictures on various people who are other heights and body shapes, please refer to our website Customer Photos page and/or our IG IRL (in real life) photo feed, @evystree_irl.
