Classic Evy’s Tree Brilla! Back in Black…

Welcome back to the Brilla, one of the original and most constantly popular Evy’s Tree styles. Named after Amy’s sister-in-law (Brilla is her fond family nickname), the Brilla has appeared in more colors and variations that we can list here. It has always been one of our more “ruffle-y” hoodies, featuring a thick single, double, or triple layer ruffle down the front, around the hood, and by the pockets. Most of the earlier Brillas included a hand-cut fabric flower sewn over the left shoulder. The Brilla has usually been in a thicker fabric while a few have been in a more light-weight material. The Brilla is known as an ultra soft, comfortable, feminine and fun Evy’s Tree classic! Some of the favorite “throw back” reincarnations are shown here:

One of the first manufactured Brillas, and a rapid sell-out, the Polka-Dot Brilla fabric was buttery soft and stretchy.

In Summer 2015, the Brilla appeared in a light-weight, vintage-y burnout material in both Cognac and Tomato (see here)

We wish we could show all of the many Brilla varieties but space is limited!

And now we are super happy to bring the latest Brilla rendition, in solid black. Made of the same soft, stretchy, light weight fabric as the recent Emma Ruffle or Ava Racer, the Brilla in Black was made for the summer. Throw it over a dress, jeans, or anywhere you want a little extra coverage without too much weight.

This new Brilla is a wardrobe staple in its solid black color. It has the same hood and pockets as usual, with the thumbholes that were added last summer.

Here is Samantha in size small in the Black Brilla; she usually wears XS but prefers to size up in pieces with this fabric so she has a bit more layering room.

Stephanie prefers to size up to the medium, also for more layering space.

The Brilla is considered true to size; the fabric is slightly loose and stretchy. Size down if you want a more fitted look, size up if you’re in between sizes or if you’re curvier in the chest, or stay in your normal size if you’d like (refer to the size chart as a guide). This fabric, while stretchy, can be slightly ‘clingy’ so some prefer to size up for layering purposes.

Care Instructions:​We recommend machine washing, zipped up, inside out, on cold gentle cycle with like colors in a lingerie bag, no bleach, and laying flat to dry. Low iron if necessary. For more laundry/care tips, please see our FAQ section (under the About Us tab).
